Within the first 4 days, over 4 million iPhone 4s have been sold worldwide. This feat took the iPhone 4 3 weeks to reach, making the 4s the most successful iphone. In Australia, all telecommunication carriers such as Telstra, Optus and Vodafone have all sold out and the wait is approximately 2 weeks. Purchasing the phone outright is also possible, however the wait is also around 2 weeks. The 4s comes in 3 models, 16G, 32G and the newly released 64G. Pricing depends if you’re signing up to a contract or purchasing it outright.
The cheapest option would be signing up to a contract as your also getting some value back in forms of call credits. However, if your still locked into your contract but desperately want the 4s, it’s also possible to purchase it outright from Apple. Since, there is so much hype of the 4S’s release, there are many people offloading there 4S on ebay to earn healthy margins, ranging from $999 – $1200 for the 16G, which is really expensive considering the 64G costs $999 outright.
At the moment there are 4 mobile carriers offering the 4S: Telstra, Optus, Vodafone and Virgin. As stock is very limited, The expected wait for purchasing the 4s through other online stores such as Kogan or ShoppingSquare is around 2 months.
